The Bound Zip Pouch - Class Content

Zipped pouches are a really great thing to learn to make as they make great gifts, and can be both beautiful and useful. Being small, they are perfect for trying out new techniques and skills, so you won’t have to invest too much time or fabric!   But inserting zips into pouches the traditional way can be tricky and result in bulky ends that people don’t like.

So in this class we are going to take a look at an alternative way to finish off the zip area: using binding. I actually think it’s an easier method of inserting a zip. The video lessons will walk you through the process step by step.

In this class you will learn:

  • How to insert both: open ended; and closed ended zips
  • How to use binding to create a beautiful neat finish on a pouch

Course Curriculum

I've been teaching sewing, patchwork & quilting for over 10 years and I'm excited to help you.

I have absolutely LOVED helping every single one of my customers develop and improve their sewing, patchwork & quilting skills.  It's truly rewarding to see students progress and have 'lightbulb moments'.

I love teaching, breaking topics down into bite-sized chunks and making it achievable for all!  Since moving most of my teaching online it's been eye opening to realise that most people learn better this way: working at their own pace and having more time to practise; but still getting time with the teacher to ask questions.
