Finishing Beautiful Quilts (every time!) - Class Content
One of the overall aims of Quilt Hive is to help members improve the level of their work so they are more satisfied with it. In this class I want to talk about all the steps you can take to ensure you get a beautifully finished quilt. As a quilter already, you may already be familiar with many of the subjects covered in this class, but you might have gaps in your knowledge. So I thought it might be helpful to have a class that covers it all.
You’ll be learning about:
- The importance that accurate cutting and piecing plays in the finished item
- How to square up a pieced top
- Preparing the backing
- My tips and tricks for effective basting
- Quilting
- Trimming and squaring up the quilt
- Blocking

Course Curriculum
I've been teaching sewing, patchwork & quilting for over 10 years and I'm excited to help you.
I have absolutely LOVED helping every single one of my customers develop and improve their sewing, patchwork & quilting skills. It's truly rewarding to see students progress and have 'lightbulb moments'.
I love teaching, breaking topics down into bite-sized chunks and making it achievable for all! Since moving most of my teaching online it's been eye opening to realise that most people learn better this way: working at their own pace and having more time to practise; but still getting time with the teacher to ask questions.
