Freezer Paper Foundation Paper Piecing - Class Content

This class is all about an alternative method of foundation paper piecing (FPP). In class 7 of Quilt Hive we looked at the traditional method of Foundation Paper Piecing, but in this class we take a look at the benefits of using Freezer Paper instead.

I will show you how to use the magic properties of freezer paper in a method of FPP that doesn't damage the template, so you can avoid tearing away all those fiddly, tiny pieces of paper, reduce waste and use the same template again and again!

This month's class also includes various sizes of Economy blocks to practise with and also my Rainbow Kites Quilt pattern - a perfect pattern to try out this technique!

In this class you will learn:

  • An ingenious method of foundation paper piecing where you don’t stitch through the paper, allowing you to reuse the same template many times over
  • My secret tip on how to freshen up a furred up template
  • When to choose this method instead of the more commonly used one

You can check out the full contents of the class below.

Course Curriculum

I've been teaching sewing, patchwork & quilting for over 10 years and I'm excited to help you.

I have absolutely LOVED helping every single one of my customers develop and improve their sewing, patchwork & quilting skills.  It's truly rewarding to see students progress and have 'lightbulb moments'.

I love teaching, breaking topics down into bite-sized chunks and making it achievable for all!  Since moving most of my teaching online it's been eye opening to realise that most people learn better this way: working at their own pace and having more time to practise; but still getting time with the teacher to ask questions.
