Improv Alphabet (Part 2): Curvy Letter Blocks - Class Content

This is the second class in a small series about using improv patchwork techniques to construct letter blocks. This style of block is perfect to use when making a statement quilt.  Maybe you want to add a name to a quilt.  Perhaps you want to just add a single word for a cushion like Home or Love.  Maybe you want to make a mini quilt featuring your 'word of the year. Perhaps you're want to add a whole phrase to a project, maybe a song lyric or a political statement!

In this class you will learn:

  • how to sketch out curvy alphabet improv blocks
  • how to incorporate shallow curves, Drunkard's Path curves, and Double Drunkard's Path curved seams into your improv letter blocks
  • how to construct your letters

And you'll spend some time sketching out letters and maybe decide to construct a word or two.

You can check out the full contents of the class below.

Course Curriculum

I've been teaching sewing, patchwork & quilting for over 10 years and I'm excited to help you.

I have absolutely LOVED helping every single one of my customers develop and improve their sewing, patchwork & quilting skills.  It's truly rewarding to see students progress and have 'lightbulb moments'.

I love teaching, breaking topics down into bite-sized chunks and making it achievable for all!  Since moving most of my teaching online it's been eye opening to realise that most people learn better this way: working at their own pace and having more time to practise; but still getting time with the teacher to ask questions.
