Kaleidoscope EPP Stars - Class Content

I'm delighted to welcome Suzanne Campion to Quilt Hive as a guest teacher. Suzanne is a British designer and maker. She often works with Liberty fabrics, making stunning quilts, featuring traditional techniques such as English paper piecing and cathedral windows. She is extremely talented at using the pattern in fabrics in this unique way, so I'm delighted that she'll be sharing that technique with us in this class.

The class is called Kaleidoscope English Paper Pieced Stars: Piecing stars with diamonds, and looking at a very special form of fussy cutting, one that manipulates the patterns on the fabric to create new designs.

In this class you will learn:

  • What characteristics to look for in a fabric to create a kaleidoscope effect
  • How to use viewfinder templates to select sections of fabric to fussy cut
  • How to fussy cut using the diamond templates
  • How to baste the EPP diamonds
  • and how to form the star shape and assemble the stars into a panel for a table runner

If you don't fancy making the table runner, Suzanne has also included instructions in the workbook for how to use the technique to make a Christmas decoration. This is the perfect size if you just want to try it.

You can check out the full contents of the class below.

Course Curriculum

I've been teaching sewing, patchwork & quilting for over 10 years and I'm excited to help you.

I have absolutely LOVED helping every single one of my customers develop and improve their sewing, patchwork & quilting skills.  It's truly rewarding to see students progress and have 'lightbulb moments'.

I love teaching, breaking topics down into bite-sized chunks and making it achievable for all!  Since moving most of my teaching online it's been eye opening to realise that most people learn better this way: working at their own pace and having more time to practise; but still getting time with the teacher to ask questions.
