No Fray Machine Applique & Bias Stems - Class Content

Do you sew applique? Personally, I usually gravitate towards 'raw edge' applique because it's just so much faster than needle turn or turned edge applique. But the thing is, whilst I love that method for things like pouches and cushions, I'd rather not use it on a quilt as it does have a propensity to fray at the edges. But what if I told you there was a way to have no fraying with applique AND still be able to sew it all with the machine! In class 20 of Quilt Hive you will learn the no-fray method of machine applique!

In this class you will learn:

  • a method of applique that can be sewn entirely by machine and does not result in any frayed edges
  •  How to make and apply Bias Stems

You can check out the full contents of the class below.

Course Curriculum

I've been teaching sewing, patchwork & quilting for over 10 years and I'm excited to help you.

I have absolutely LOVED helping every single one of my customers develop and improve their sewing, patchwork & quilting skills.  It's truly rewarding to see students progress and have 'lightbulb moments'.

I love teaching, breaking topics down into bite-sized chunks and making it achievable for all!  Since moving most of my teaching online it's been eye opening to realise that most people learn better this way: working at their own pace and having more time to practise; but still getting time with the teacher to ask questions.

Great video

Instructions very clear. Great tips throughout. I didn’t know anything about woven interfacing. Previously I would turn the interfacing and it would tear.
