Thread Play: Plaid Patterns - Class Content
This class is all about Thread Play to create Plaid Patterns. It combines the technique of matchstick quilting with varied thread colour to create patterns or gentle shifts in colour. The close nature of matchstick quilting together with clever use of thread colour can result in fooling the eyes into thinking the maker has pieced the fabric. When instead it's just a change in thread colour, thus producing a very clever illusion!
In this class you will learn:
- How thread can be used to manipulate the colour of the fabric in subtle ways
- How to prevent uneven shrinkage by adding registration lines when doing matchstick quilting
- How to get accurate gaps between lines of stitching
- How to map out a uniform plaid design

I've been teaching sewing, patchwork & quilting for over 10 years and I'm excited to help you.
