The final part of making a quilt is finishing the edges off nicely. We've already got some classes in the Quilt Hive about various ways you can do that, but in this class we are slowing things down and doing some hand sewing.
In this class we look at how to attach your binding using some decorative Big Stitch Binding.
This technique is fantastic for adding a beautiful texture to the quilt edging and is a perfect alternative to attaching a binding with an invisible stitch.
I demonstrate the stitch patterns on some winter themed coasters, but this technique can be used on any size quilt.
In this class I demonstrate 4 different stitch patterns that you might like to try:
If you want to make the coasters like the ones I demonstrate on, then I've included a template for the snowflake in the course workbook.
You can check out the full contents of the class below.

I've been teaching sewing, patchwork & quilting for over 10 years and I'm excited to help you.
I have absolutely LOVED helping every single one of my customers develop and improve their sewing, patchwork & quilting skills. It's truly rewarding to see students progress and have 'lightbulb moments'.
I love teaching, breaking topics down into bite-sized chunks and making it achievable for all! Since moving most of my teaching online it's been eye opening to realise that most people learn better this way: working at their own pace and having more time to practise; but still getting time with the teacher to ask questions.
