Walking Foot Quilting - Part 2 - Class Content

This is a partner class to Quilt Hive class 3 where I introduced you to the walking foot and I demonstrated 6 basic designs...in this class we take it further and you'll become more confident and willing to try new designs.

You might also choose to join us in using your practice pieces in class 6 to make a quilt with them using the Quilt As You Go technique. Alternatively you could use them to make zipped pouches - just trim to desired size.

To get the most out of the class you'll need a walking foot that is compatible with your machine.

The six designs we'll be looking at are:

  • Random Straight Lines
  • Random Wavy Lines
  • Spiral
  • Curved Crosshatch Grid
  •  Orange Peel
  • Optical Illusion

You can check out the full contents of the class below.

Course Curriculum

I've been teaching sewing, patchwork & quilting for over 10 years and I'm excited to help you.

I have absolutely LOVED helping every single one of my customers develop and improve their sewing, patchwork & quilting skills.  It's truly rewarding to see students progress and have 'lightbulb moments'.

I love teaching, breaking topics down into bite-sized chunks and making it achievable for all!  Since moving most of my teaching online it's been eye opening to realise that most people learn better this way: working at their own pace and having more time to practise; but still getting time with the teacher to ask questions.

Fab walking foot ideas!

I loved watching you create the wavy line quilt designs as, so far in my quilting journey, I've only used straight line designs. I aim to be more adventurous going forward! Thanks Jo x

Great Walking Foot Designs!

I never ever thought of using the walking foot to create so many designs. I did the crosshatch on my very first quilting project four years ago on dresser and nightstand scarves. These designs are so cool and I know I'll use all of them! Thank you for such wonderful instructions!
